Lunch Break w/ Lenny & T Bone
Lenny Waronker: So what instruments do you play?
Will Gray: I don't play really. I write, but don't play. I only know a few chords.
T Bone Burnett: Then you do play. That's all any of us know... a few chords.

Kings of Leon: An Observation
In the forthcoming issue of Spin Magazine, the band, Kings of Leon are profiled and Caleb Followill drops some interesting science on the commoners. “We definitely got bigger than we wanted to be,” Caleb tells SPIN. “You feel like you’ve done something wrong. That woman in mom jeans who’d never let me date her daughter? She likes my music. That’s f*ing not...

Robert Ranolph covers Will Gray for new album?
18 months ago I was returning home from LA after working on some music with T Bone Burnett for my album Honeysuckle Wine. When I got back, word was sent that T Bone was producing the Robert Randolph & The Family Band record and they were selecting songs for the album. So, I sent T Bone 2 or 3 songs that I thought might fit the vibe. They chose one song, “Don’t Change”,...
P.S.A
My Godmother, “Aunt Jackie” passed away. It seems to happen in flashes like that. Stark reality and frigid truth hit you in the gut with no apologies. In an instant, life is boiled down to what you remember. I remember that my godparents had a room that was a complete mirror… walls, ceilings, everything. Tons of small mirrors. It probably wasn’t like that, but...

A quick thought on Anderson's thoughts just posted
revawilliams:
Does it strike anyone else as odd, that in a world where:
1 billion people don’t have access to clean, safe drinking water
1 billion people don’t get enough food or have basic nutriotion needs met
4 million people have died in the DRC in the last decade due to genocide and the consequences of war
Darfur is still happening

Gangsta!
So, I was thinking about Jammie Thomas-Rasset today. How in the world is this going to work? She can’t pay them, and this does very little if anything for the record labels that have ripped off and exploited people for years! Moby has some nice thoughts, so I will not continue. Anywho… I just wanted to say that I think it’s funny how everyone’s not really out for...

Maury Povich was born in our nation’s capitol and is now 70yrs. old. The son of a Washington Post Journalist, he graduated from The University of Pennsylvania, a top Ivy League school, in 1962 with a degree in television journalism. In that era, from 1950 to 1962 the % of households in America with a Television in their home jumped from 9% to 90% (http://www.tvhistory.tv/facts-stats.htm). ...
Making a path for "Broke*"
The signs and sounds of the times are bright enough and loud enough to wake us from the American Dream. We no longer seek the freedom from work, but have an insatiable lust for the freedom to work. We desire and even demand that the work of our hands be enjoyable, meaningful, and fulfilling. Our work must be true. It must be true to ourselves, and others, and cause the lies within all of us to...

Broke*
Broke is the title of the documentary that I’ve been working on for a while now. The basic concept is examining the question of whether or not it’s possible for an artist to “break”. So, what does breaking mean? Traditionally, in the music industry, breaking has meant that an artist has broken through the clutter to reach a national audience, and has started to become a...
Slowly but surely?
Tomorrow is the day to begin unveiling more details on the documentary we’ve been working on for a while now. Things are going really well so far.

The Renegade Tour
Currently, I am deeply engrossed in putting together a tour with my friends in the band Gretel. As usual everything keeps falling apart and we keep putting it back together. I don’t quite know why we do it, but I suppose it’s because we love and care about… you. I mean, we enjoy making music, but it seems like my day consists of about 5% music if I were to really boil it...

The Mystery
So, as we are closing in on the end of another year it all just seems like a blur. It seems that I never have enough time to do the things that I would like to do. Busy Busy Busy, but for what? I’m still trying to figure that out. I hope that I’m doing something to drill a hole into the darkness of all our hearts. I hope that I am helping us to stop turning away from the wreckage,...

Vegan + Homeless = LA
The other day, I was picking Angie up from work, and while she was walking to the car she was approached by a homeless man on the street. He was kind of scruffy looking, but so am I… so I didn’t worry that he was going to mess with her too much. Besides, Angie is probably tougher than I am anyway, so she can take care of herself.
We’ve been trying to keep snacks on us for the...
