The Renegade Tour
Currently, I am deeply engrossed in putting together a tour with my friends in the band Gretel. As usual everything keeps falling apart and we keep putting it back together. I don’t quite know why we do it, but I suppose it’s because we love and care about… you. I mean, we enjoy making music, but it seems like my day consists of about 5% music if I were to really boil it down. I’m probably overestimating on the music side.
Much of my day is about troubleshooting. I feel like I work for Cisco.
I’ve done five things today that had typos in them. You may have seen them, or maybe they just stick out to me. It’s tricky trying to do and manage everything. Yet, this is the reality. This is music 2.0 It’s not so much about music as it is about blogging or Twittering, or any other number of endless over-exposures.
I look forward to Feb. 19th. The first show of the tour. Then, my day will only be 70% business, and 30% music. It may sound sarcastic, but it’s not. I truly am waiting for the moment that i can actually do something related to music.
We’re filming a documentary that by default follows my life a bit, and poses the question of whether it is possible to make a living as an independent artist.
It could be, but it truly is up to you. It’s up to us all to preserve music. I’ll be posting more info on the documentary soon. It’s called BROKE. Fitting I know…
More to come in the coming hours.
